This weekend I invested in lollysticks and insulation tape from my beloved pound shop. I quickly set about making a sort of desk tidy for my man pals room (the colours just don’t match mine, so he gets stuck with my stuff, natch!). They act as mini planks and are easily painted.

6- I painted my front panel with a base coat of basic colours, leaving to dry overnight and putting on black and white designs later. You don’t need to be too fancy, simple patterns look striking in the bold colours.
7- The back I painted black before using my other basic colours to fleck paint on. Flecking is easy and fun; use a spare bit of card (I used a toothpaste box!) and push your paintbrush against it. Don’t use water, the paint will dry very faintly. For best effect use paint straight from the bottle and do not be afraid to be liberal.
8- I made my sides 2 jumbo sticks deep to allow for plenty room. Strap the 2 together with insulation tape until strong. Sellotape won’t work as well because it is thinner. Trim edges as close to the stick as possible before sticking each section together- use a ‘hinge’ style to create structure before layering the tape to add strength. Make sure you stick this standing upright helps you make sure it will stay upright. Stick the front too high or low and it will end up tipping.
=D And that’s all, folks!!
